Are you ready to experience Duluth in a new way? Then it’s time to get onboard the historic, all volunteer run, Duluth River Train. With views of the St Louis River estuary and Spirit Mountain, our 2 hour out-and-back excursion has been a popular way to see the estuary in Summer and Fall since 1980. Seeing the fall colors from the train should be on your bucket-list!
We are a completely volunteer run organization and are always looking for new volunteers to help keep this train rolling. No railroading experience is needed. We have jobs to fit your abilities, skills, and interests.
Our rail excursion is only one way to experience the St. Louis River Estuary. Check out our Choo Choo Paddle Shuttle for the National Water Trail and hiking and biking on the Waabizheshikana: Marten Trail, too.
Experience the St. Louis River Estuary from the most scenic train excursion in northern Minnesota. We offer a family-friendly ride, educational narration, and a front row seat to wildlife.
We are a 100% volunteer run railroad that has for the last 45 years given people the chance to experience the charm and history of the St Louis River Estuary.
Our 2-hour round-trip excusion departs twice on Saturdays and Sundays during the Summer and Fall.
